About Michael:
I graduated with a BA in Psychology followed by an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience both from the National University of Ireland, Galway. My masters dissertation investigated white matter microstructure and working memory in schizophrenia. After graduation, he took up a position as a research assistant at the substance use research centre at Columbia University, Department of Psychiatry. Specifically neuropharmacological cannabis research. I am currently undertaking a PhD which focuses on longitudinal multimodal neuroimaging in ADHD. The aim of the research is to investigate how brain structure and function change with age in ADHD, and whether different trajectories of brain development are associated with variations in outcomes including diagnostic persistence, and academic, cognitive, social and mental health outcomes.
