About Yihe

I graduated with a BSc and a MEd in Psychology from South China Normal University in 2017 and in 2020 in China. My research field is about neuroscience and imaging analysis. I was in Prof. Ruiwang Huang’s lab during the master program. In the MEd project, I detected the temporal properties between eyes conditions by using resting-state fMRI data. My current project is to investigate the neural mechanism associated with trajectories of adolescent substance misuse by using IMAGEN data.

Current Research

My PhD research is funded by a Chinese Government Scholarship. Substance misuse in early adolescence may have long term effects on brain development. Brain changes during adolescence may be both a cause and a consequence of substance misuse. My current project aims to investigate the neural mechanism associated with trajectories of adolescent substance misuse. To this aim, this project will focus on a stop-signal task, that captures individual differences in inhibitory control abilities in substance use. I would apply computational psychiatry to two longitudinal neuroimaging studies (IMAGEN and ABCD dataset) and examine the cause-and-effect between brain changes and substance misuse. I hope this project can help understand further neural basis behind adolescent alcohol use and detect a neuroimaging biomarker which can be used to predict the behavior of adolescent alcohol use
